I tend to agree with cam2644. The biggest disconnect between corporations like Google/Facebook/Amazon and today's technology audience, is that they (the corporations) don't think the consumer is responsible for any of the advances in technology, and therefore don't "deserve" to receive any part of the capital realized/generated by them (the advances). 90% of the folks that use social computing infrastructures, like Facebook, have sufficient computing power, storage and network speed, to host "their stuff" (a George Carlin-ism) on their own home network. Imagine what things would be like, if there was an agent running on your mobile phone/home computer that charged Facebook to access "your stuff"? Instead, we put our stuff on Facebook for FREE, and then they turn around and make money off of allowing other corporations to access it! The truth is that the business plans for Google and Facebook, don't include any notion of "giving back" to consumers. They only include plans for how to make money off of stuff you give them for FREE :-)
