Hi Friends?
Myself Sandeep Kumar author and host for this article cum Interview. We got a huge positive response from you all for our last two ?bloggers Interview? (Amrik & Monica). Thanks for supporting and appreciating us.
Today I am here with another emerging Pro Blogger ?Jane Sheeba? (Founder of Problogging Success). She is very talented scientist and blogger.
So let?s try to know more about ?Jane? and their blogging journey?..
Hi Jane?..welcome to ?SEOBloggersTips?. We proud to have you as our guest on ?ProBlogger Dream?.
Q: When and why did you start blogging?
I started blogging back in 2007. I started blogging just to get rid of my loneliness when I was away from my home for the first time in the UK for my Ph. D. I was also in a long distance relationship with my then boyfriend (now my husband) ? so blogging was a good medium for me to cope with the loneliness and stress!
I never thought I will get this far with blogging.
Q: Tell us something about your first blog? Was it a success or failure? What was the reason for that?
My first blog was on blogger.com platform and was simply a blog where I wrote on whatever topics that interested me.
Was it a success or failure? ? I really can?t say because I didn?t have any particular goal with that blog. Without knowing what I wanted to accomplish with that blog, I really can?t talk about success and failure J
By the way, that blog got deleted on one fine morning by Google. This happened to be a turning point for me to get started with professional blogging on a self-hosted blog.
Q: What topics do you generally cover in your blog?
I currently have 5 blogs and following are the topics I discuss at those blogs.
- Problogging Success ? Blogging tips, Internet marketing, Social media etc.
- Tech Buzz Online ? Technology, Gadgets, Games
- Merry Relationships ? All about love and relationships
- Diet Fitness Deck? ? Diet, Fitness, Workout etc.
- Jane Sheeba ? My personal blog where I talk about self-improvement, personal development, goal setting, motivation, time management etc.
Q: Have you ever been in writers block situation? What do you do then?
Yes I do get writers block quite often. I usually take a break. When I put pressure on myself I can never write (and basically I can?t do any sort of work under pressure).
I relax, read other blogs, sometimes totally unplug for a short while (and do workouts) and then come back.
However I usually keep it safe by maintaining a notebook of ideas and draft posts to fill my downtime.
Q: Share your blog promotional techniques with us. Which work best for you?and why?
I use social media as a number one tool for promoting my blog posts. I also do guest blogging. Among social media platforms, Facebook gives me good results.
Q: How important is it for the blogger to interact with their readers? Do?you respond to all the comments that you receive?
No I don?t keep it as a rule to respond to all the comments. But I do stop by and respond to comments on all my posts ? when the commenter has a point, and if the commenter is quite new (I respond to them, and welcome new commenters even if their comment is not good).
Q: If there was a blogging genie that could grant you 3 wishes, what would they be?
Get rich quick
Get rich quick
Get rich quick
Ha ha, just kidding J . Seriously here are the three things I?d ask:
- Tell me the profitable niches.
- Tell Google to rank my blog as #1 for all the profitable keywords.
- Mesmerize people to ignore all the hard working bloggers and follow me even if I don?t create worthwhile content/service/product.
Well, again, I am kidding
Q: Would you like to become a full time blogger?
Of course! That?s gonna happen quite soon.
Q:? What should be the success measurement criteria for a blogger? Is the earned money only criteria?
It all depends on how each individual comes into blogging. If all someone wants is money then yes, the amount of money earned decides their blogging success. On the other hand, there are so many possibilities as to why one starts blogging.
Some do it for fame, some wants to generate leads, some want to promote their business and so on.
Here comes the crucial point. It is very important to have a well-defined goal before anyone starts blogging. If one clearly knows what they want to achieve then, success is a measurable term.
Q: Any advice to new bloggers?
Don?t hesitate to invest in your blog if you want to run it as a serious business. Start with the necessary tools (invest in them if needed) from day one and be a professional blogger. This way you can expect results faster and you will also gain recognition faster (provided you have the stuff for it).
Second, don?t expect to get rich overnight and don?t expect to see results as soon as you start your blog.
Q: What do you think, one should learn blogging before starting or is it just a passion?
Blogging is not rocket science and there?s nothing complicated to learn before starting. One can always learn as they move forward because no matter whatever you learn with blogging, things change quite often.
However, a basic knowledge about what blogging is and how it works, knowledge about the niche market and SEO are good to have.
Q: Do you earn revenue through your blog?
Yes, of course I do. I earn by selling my services, products, through advertising revenue and I also run a handful of niche blogs which are monetized by affiliate products.
Q: What is the future of Blogging?
I think blogging is going to dominate almost the majority of the industries and businesses ? both online and offline ventures.
It is one of the most powerful media I?ve ever seen ? and it is getting more powerful everyday!
Q: Share your?favorite three blogs.
- Copyblogger
- Social Triggers
- Smart Passive Income
Q: Share your favorite three fellow blogger?s name.
Ileane Smith (Basic Blog Tips)- A wonderful person who shares a lot of information for free and doesn?t care about money; she values relationships a lot.
Brankica Underwood (Online Income Star) ? A strong lady and quite well resonates with my thoughts and beliefs. I closely monitor her updates everywhere. She is very motivating and a very kind friend.
Kim Castleberry (Just Ask Kim) ? Just as the name of her website, Kim is a down to earth person to whom one can ask questions any time and she is open to helping as much as she can.
Since you asked only three it?s really tough for me. I?d also like to mention Fransisco Perez (iBlog Zone) and Hesham Zebida (Famous Bloggers).
Q: Your Favorite
Color: Black
Movie: Transporter, Underworld & Twilight series.
TV Show: I?m not a fan of them.
Time pass: Being alone, listening to music.
Food: Anything from my Mom?s kitchen.
Thanks Jane for giving us your valuable time and sharing your experience.
