From the HERS Breast Cancer Foundation:
FREMONT ? HERS Breast Cancer Foundation (HBCF), a professional accredited organization that supports any woman with a focus on breast cancer, proudly announces the KEEP ABREAST 5k Walk, 5k/10k Run and Community Expo, being held on September 29, 2012 at the Quarry Lakes East Bay Regional Park in Fremont.
This community fundraising event brings together friends and family of those who are fighting or are survivors of breast cancer, while celebrating the lives of those lost to this unfortunate disease.?
This year?s KEEP ABREAST event attendance is expected to hit an all-time high. It will consist of an inspirational opening ceremony that includes the traditional releasing of doves by a circle of breast cancer survivors, warm-ups prior to the walk/run, and concludes with the exciting Community Resource Expo featuring all the proud sponsors, booths, acoustic music, and a BBQ.
?It?s just a wonderful time to honor all these courageous women and their families,? said Karen Jackson, Community Development Director of the HERS Breast Cancer Foundation, and event chairperson.
Participants can register and donate online at the KEEP ABREAST website. All proceeds from this event will be used to benefit the outreach programs and services of the HERS Breast Cancer Foundation, helping women and their loved ones survive the battle with breast cancer.
