Critics sure do love the underdogs. Friday Night Lights, which didn't receive Emmy attention until its final two seasons, won the Program of the Year award for its final season at the Television Critics Association Awards on Saturday night.
Game of Thrones, which was one of the most buzzed-about new shows of the year, was named Outstanding New Program.

Parks and Recreation's Nick Offerman hosted the annual event, held at The Beverly Hilton hotel in conjunction with the TCA's summer press tour. Offerman also went home with the award for Individual Achievement in Comedy, an award he shared with Ty Burrell of Modern Family. Modern Family also scored the award for Outstanding Achievement in Comedy
AMC's Mad Men took the statuette for Outstanding Achievement in Drama, while the show's star, Jon Hamm, was also recognized for Individual Achievement in Drama.
After wrapping up her daytime talk show after 25 years, Oprah Winfrey was honored with the Career Achievement Award. The TCA also honored The Dick Van Dyke Show with the Heritage Award.
