Business Management - Job prospects?

Firstly: Remember! It?s your life, your choices. You know best what you want. What we do is just speculations regarding your life.
You probably know that, but just as a reminder ^^ Unfortunately in Greece (this is where I am now), education is seperated into 3 different directions - Them being "Theoretical", "Science" and "Technology".

The first two are usually considered the "main" directions, whereas "Technology" is taken as a branch!

I chose Theoretical as that's the requirement for English Philology, but now I do somewhat regret it! This direction includes Ancient Greek, Latin, Philology and History while the second one Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics!

First I must say that I?m far from an expert on the fields of guiding in education (I might be in the future since I?m going to study educational science, but that?s another story). So I don?t have an expertise to say something specifically clear.

But the education you have going now, is that the one that?s prior to university/other higher education?s at same level & different jobs? If that?s the case I guess you?ll be around 16-19 of age.

Because it sounds very similar to what we here in Denmark call ?gymnasium?. Basically the education preparing you for university. At the ?gymnasium? we usually have a language line with English + German/French/Spanish, a nature science line with mathematic + physics/chemistry/biology and a social studies line with social study, English and math. All lines have history, Danish, religion and some other stuff.
Then we have it a different levels. C as the lowest, then B and A as the highest. The levels are a representation of difficulty but mainly numbers of classes taken in that subject.
If that?s where you are, that will probably influence your possibilities in university/other educations. At least if it?s somewhat the same system as here. I think the best thing you can do to find out, is to check the webpage of the university/education to find information about whether or not you meet the requirements. If it?s not available by webpage, call them, write them, go to them to find information. The more you know, the higher the possibility that you chose correctly.

So, If say I'd like a technology job... what do I need?

I think the most normal choice would be that of nature science. That would be the most normal here, but I think that there is a high possibility that you would find that Greece deal with it in a different way. So really, see if you can find any information about your way through the system that comes from sources within Greece, and let it be sources that have credibility.
But I would think that nature science would be a requirement, but I don?t know. I don?t know that source, which means that I?m by standard very skeptical. Also, it seems to be from the U.S. making it very hard to apply to European standard. So be careful with that link.
You don?t have some sort of educational ministry, or perhaps a union of universities/educations? What about tutors?

BUT, after reading through some info @eriseis sent... I saw "Software Developer" and I have to say I'm pretty impressed!
Does that sector always require high skills in mathematics? After reading some people's reviews, others have said it doesn't and others that it does!

I don?t know about high skill in math. But I would guess it would require at least a decent knowledge about math. Again, seek a tutor or some other information if you can. For a year, my passion was to study English Philology... I always considered it amazing!

Now, however, I am unsure if that is what I really want to go after. If teaching (or similar) is what I really love doing!

That is why I got Business Management involved!

BUT, after reading through some info @eriseis sent... I saw "Software Developer" and I have to say I'm pretty impressed!

Doubt is with everyone. All the time. I doubt my choice of studying educational science, even though I?ve spent a year on thinking, half of it intensely. I still think about philosophy and psychology often. But now I?ve taken this road. If I find out I have chosen wrong, then I must start over, and take the consequences of that choice. Though notice, that I probably have far better conditions here in Denmark in remaking a choice than you have (that?s what I would presume).

I have chosen by passion, because for me passion is more important than wage and a high possibility of a job. If there are not so many jobs, I must just fight harder. Which will be easier for me since I have a passion for what I do.
Teaching is probably the possibility. But perhaps if you?re real good, a PhD would be a possibly? Perhaps become a scientist in your field?

Also ask yourself: Do you show interest in Software developer because you?re interested in a job, or because you find the topic interesting? And how much do you know? Do you know enough to compare it just by a slim margin to English Philology?

Perhaps you?re one of these persons who can cast his/hers interest on any topic/education, which can be both a curse and a gift.

Again, you?re the only one who can know what you feel for, and what?s the right choice for you. Seeking information here can be okay, but we can mostly only provide our own experiences and than of our acquaintances. And we?re probably not from Greece. So try find someone in Greece that knows about how the system of your situation works, so you have someone with usable knowledge.

I hope that I?ve asked a few questions that can make you think about your choices in a healthy way, and that I made myself clear enough in this rather long wall of text. There?s quite a few questions =)

If you reply to this post, I?ll probably try answering any questions I somewhat can help with or perhaps start a reflective though in your brain. But not in this night. It?s late here, so good night
